为了推动大学英语教学大纲的贯彻执行，对大学本科生或研究生的英语能力进行客观、准确的测量，同时也为了提高我国大学英语课程的教学质量服务，国家教育部每年主持众多全国性教学考试，其中包括1987年正式实施的大学英语英语四级，即College English Test Band 4(缩写形式为：CET-4)考试，大学英语六级，即College English Test Band 6(缩写形式为：CET-6)考试等。为此，本文将从如何备战、演练以及最终如何提高英语四级写作分数入手，进行详细阐述。
一、知彼知己
1、四级写作分数如何获得
四级写作采用的评分方法是总体评分法。阅卷老师将首先对其考生作文的总体印象打出分数，并不是按考生作文的语言点错误的数目从总分中扣除分数。然后阅卷老师将根据考生作文的写作内容和英语语言表达情况将其分为六个等级(包括零分)，最终给出考试作文的分数。值得一提的是，英语四级写作部分占试卷710分的15%，即，106.5分，考生写作分数是从公式：得分率x 10 x 15%中算出来的，根据乘除法算式的特点，尽量不要空题，使其为零，从而失去更多的`分数。
2、注重四级写作细节要求
注重细节，往往能成就一件大事，反之，也可能会导致整件事情的失败。大学英语四级写作的要求越来越细节化，考生也必须越来越细心应对。比如：字数的限定、文字颜色的规定、卷面新的要求等等。四级写作字数的限定，暗示考试字数的多少也会影响到作文分数。20xx年12月之前的四级考试，写作要求只说下限120个英语单词，但并无上限要求，之后(包括20xx年12月)，写作要求中明确指出，四级作文字数最少120个，最多180个。有效控制了学生语出不绝的现象，也使其评分更加科学与公平。
除此之外，考试还要求考生只能使用黑色签字笔作答，因此建议考生不要带其它颜色笔进入考场，以免紧张用错。2B铅笔的选用，建议考生尽量避免使用新的2B铅笔，而是使用禁得过考验的2B铅笔。有一考生平时英语学得很好，但是因为使用了假2B铅笔(成绩公布后，发现客观题分数全部为零)，而后悔不已。考生保持卷面整洁，书写清晰。从而给阅卷老师留下良好印象，提高总体印象分数。
二、高效复习四级作文
1、如果考生在英语四级复习当中，还没有空出大量时间来备战写作的情况下，不妨根据四级作文的特点，有选择、有步骤地精选一些英语写作模版或写作套用句型来进行有效的“填鸭”。如：
作文开头使用：
