Our school paper is starving for an English editor.

If you get the job, you should be willing to offer some of you spare time to serve the students. And you should be good at English and art and can operate computer skillfully.

有一次我问我的爸爸，“为什么我的英语总是学不好，而我的数学却学得顶呱呱呢？”我的爸爸回答说：“不是你学不好而是你偏科而已。”爸爸又说：“英语是世界上最广泛应用的语言，汉语只有我们中国人在用，你们下一代是要走向世界的，只有有了语言的`沟通，你们才能和美国、英国、法国、加拿大等等许许多多国家里的少年英才们互相沟通，互相学习，把我们的世界建设的更加美好，不学习英语怎么能行呢？”

前一段时间，我参加了“希望之星”英语比赛，没想到进入了复赛。复赛比初赛难多了，初赛只需要用英语进行自我介绍，再加上才艺表演就行了，而复赛呢，除了这两项之外，还要看图用英语说句子。比赛的图片有20多张，比赛前两分钟进行抽签、准备，然后就要上场了。
这一个礼拜，我一直在为比赛做准备，可是因为图片太多了，时间又紧张，所以我只准备了其中的10多幅图片。
星期六下午，妈妈陪我去参加英语比赛。抽签的时候，我看见我准备的图片都被别的小朋友一张张抽走了，心里有点儿紧张。轮到我了，果然，我抽到了一幅没有准备过图片，我想：“这下可完了，真倒霉！可是，都已经到了，也没办法了，只能再努力准备一下了。”上场的时候，我不再紧张，我大方地做了自我介绍，并唱了一首英语歌，看图说话开始了，大屏幕上出示了图片，老师把话筒递给我。我先介绍了图片上的人物，在介绍他们在干什么，30秒中里面，我大概说了八、九个句子。
比赛结束了，妈妈表扬我发挥的.很好。不知道会不会进绍兴市的比赛，但是不管结果如何，这都是一次很好的经历。
