　　有人声称，有由汽车带来的诸多优势。首先，汽车行业提供了无数的工人和其他行业的大力支持的就业。其次，如果条件允许的情况下，拥有一辆汽车可以使我们更有效地工作。最后，生活将变得更加方便。一辆汽车可一到自由移动，并与一辆汽车也没有必要在寒冷或烈日下等候巴士。

　　不过，也有人强烈反对发展私家车的增加。他们认为汽车会带来一系列的问题。摆在首位，越来越多的汽车在街上的生产和运行，大量的有毒气体将被释放，污染大气和人的健康造成实际损害的。其次，私家车造成交通阻塞如此之大的优势，获得了舒适和自由往往被取消，堵车造成的挫折。最后一个问题是越来越多的汽车意外死亡，会杀死很多人在不到一秒钟的摩擦。
