　　This bar chart shows us the distribution of awarded degrees among five different fields of study in 20xx.

　　We can see that the distribution of bachelor＇s degrees in the fields of social science, education, natural sciences, humanities, business, and accounting is, more or less, even. However, when it comes to Masters and Doctorates, a very large proportion goes to the field of education and natural sciences respectively. What is worse, the humanities have the smaller or smallest number of graduates. Take the Masters for example, humanities has only ten percent of the total number of degrees, which is the smallest portion.

　　Why is there such an uneven distribution of degrees when it comes to Masters or Doctorates. In other words, why do more students choose education for their Master＇s degree and the natural sciences for their Doctorate＇s degrees? The answer, I think, lies in the fact that it is easier to find jobs after graduation if they pursue these two degrees. A Master in education, for instance, may find it easier to find a teaching post, possibly, in a college or, certainly, in a high school. Astudent with a Doctorate degree in the natural sciences may find it easier to hold a position either in a research institute, a college, or a large company

City services and facilities have been strained to a breaking point. Secondly, a growing number of private cars emit huge amount of carbon dioxide, leaving the air mercilessly polluted. 　　i would like to tell you something about myself, my true feel-ings. when i was in senior one, i had great difficulty in learning science subjects. i was unable to understand the teacher and 1 could not do the eercises or the homework. i believed that i was stupid and could not learn anything. the sky was gray and the grass was yellow those days. everything was a mess in my brain. my classmate, a good student, whom i only considered as one of the classmates before, came to me with a smile. she told me that if i needed help, she would like to help me. as she was also very busy with her studies,i asked myself, could she help me? sev-eral days later, i knew the answer. yes, she could. she did as much as she could. she made time every day to help me solve the problems and showed me many good ways to study science. her patience and earnest nature touched me deeply. i worked very hard and my progress was reflected in my eamination result. i appreciated her help very much and wanted to thank her. when i looked at her, once again she smiled at me with an encouraging and congratulatory look. at that moment i understood that a true friend should be like this.

　　nowadays, it seems that there are many ways of epressing friendship. our lives are generally better. people now have more time to consider and be more concerned about their lives. money, which is considered by many to be of prime importance, makes it difficult to find true friendship. is friendship only greeting each other on meeting? is friendship only drinking and eating together? is friendship only lending money to each other? no, a friend should be a person you trust and understand. a friend should be a person who tastes happiness and bitterness with you. a friend should be a person who can give you confidence and encouragement.

　　though everything has changed, and friendship has scores of definitions, i still believe, and i will believe forever that a friend in need is a friend indeed.

　　My View on Over-Consumption

　　Some people are in favor of the idea of over-consumption. They point out the fact that Chinas rapid economic development has materially enriched the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and at the same time increased our demands as consumers. They also argue that the rising consumption helps drive economic growth.

　　However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to consume more than what their family can afford. They firmly point out that the dogged pursuit for more accounts for our debts, anxiety, waste and overload. An example can back up this arguement: The American financial crisis caused by over consumption made the people of the world worse off.

　　There is some truth in both arguements. But I think the disadvantages of over-consumption outweigh the advantages. In addititon to the above-mentioned negative effects, the surging consuming demand threatens to exhaust our resources and spoil our environment.

　　To conclude, our government is advocating ideas of conservation-minded society and sustainable development. Whether due to sense of guilt about waste, or a simple desire to save money, we need to promote sustainable consumption.
