　　暑假里我看了马克吐温著的《威尼斯的小艇》，其中短篇小说《百万英镑》是一部很好的作品，读了它使我感触很深。

　　《百万英镑》是讲一个贫穷、诚实的人，也就是这个故事的主人公收到了一对兄弟的信，信里装着百万英镑。原来这对兄弟打了一个赌，赌如果一个贫穷、诚实的人收到天上掉下的一百万英镑，他会有怎样的结果?哥哥认为他会饿死，因为他无法证明这些钱是他自己的，而且会受到别人的怀疑，就连银行都不会让他存钱。弟弟却认为他会过得很好。于是他们兄弟俩将一百万英镑的支票借给了这个贫穷又诚实又聪明的人，并出国呆了一个月。没想到在这段时间里，人们对这位突然暴富的罕见富翁，竟拼命地拉拢他，从免费吃饭，买衣服，到免费住宿，一个个像乞丐一样讨好他，并不断提高他的社会地位，一直到了除王室外最高的公爵之上!不光如此，他还得到了一位好妻子和三万英镑的银行利息，最后还从两兄弟那儿得到了一份很好的.工作，过着非常非常幸福的生活。

　　看到这儿，我很羡慕这位如此“幸运”的主人公，真希望能和他一样幸运，但我又转念一想：人们之所以讨好他，还不是因为当时人们太看重金钱了吗?拜金主义是可耻的，不劳而获更不应该!金钱不是万能的，世界上还有许多比金钱更重要的东西——良心和品德……

　　记得上个学期、我们上英语课、因为英语老师要去听课、所以安排了作业给我们做、但是她又怕太吵、所以叫英语课代表管纪律、谁违反了纪律、谁就将这次的作业做30遍、我们都乖乖的做了起来、但是、英语老师刚刚走、我们班上那几个调皮的.男生就吵了起来、课代表就记了他们的名字、还让他们别吵、不然就把名单拿给老师看、可是那几个人那里会听啊........继续吵、课代表就发火了、说:“如果你们静下来、我就把你们的名字都画掉”其中有一个男生说：“你以为你是谁啊、再说了、老师也只是说说而已、又不是真的。”说完就继续吵了起来、到快要下课的时候、老师就回来了、拿起名单看了看、就对我们说、：“班上一个人犯错、全班一起罚”老师刚说完、我们就在那里讨论了“怎么可以这样、又不是我们的错”“就是啊、我们可没有吵啊、为什么要罚我们、这不公平”听他们这么说、我也很生气、心里一直在想、老师怎么这么不诚实啊、不是说好只罚违反纪律的人吗？？怎么又罚我们全班的人啊、这不公平........

　　我现在终于明白了、其实老师只是想让我们知道、下次不可以再违反纪律了....................
