　　Dear Editor,

　　I’ve learned that our English Post is being reformed and one of the three columns is to be replaced by a new one. I’m writing this e-mail to share with you my opinions.

　　Needless to say, the columns will definitely be designed according to students’ interest and have positive effects on their study and life.

　　Compared to the entertainment,I hold the view that the value of the columns concerning health and culture is more important. The main factor is that it is of great significance to keep healthy while loss of health means kissing goodbye to life. Consequently, more knowledge of how to keep fit can improve the quality of life. In addition, the progress in acquiring cultures contributes to broadening one’s horizons, which in turn is beneficial to one’s study and the establishment of philosophy of life.

　　Furthermore, the career planning should be taken into account in the school English Post . On the one hand, it covers one’s career development a great deal .On the other hand, it makes a great difference to one’s career success in the future.

　　Mood

　　everyone suffers from an occasional(偶尔的) bad mood, but i am in a bad mood more often than other people. as a result, i have developed a list of helpful hints(示意,暗示) for dealing with depression(意气消沉,沮丧). one thing i have learned to do is keep a mood diary. about four times a day, i jot(草草记下) down a one-word des cription of my mood at that moment---- sad, tired, frustrated, happy, and so on. then i ask myself questions like “ what event preceded(优于?) this mood? have i just eaten a lot of junk(废弃的旧物) food or drunk a lot of coffee? have i felt this way before?” after keeping this diary for a while, i have begun to see patterns(图案) to my moods. ive found for eample that consuming(消费的`) a lot of salty foods like chips makes me feel tense. another mood-controlling hint(线索) that ive taken is to eercise every day. eercise seems to prevent depression, and it also helps me sleep better. any type of eercise works, including jogging,( 慢跑运动衣), dancing, and even walking around the block. i can also overcome depression by giving myself a small treat those times when my spirits are under the weather(under the weather不舒服)，for instance, i will go to a movie, listen to a record, or try on a new shirt. if i still feel miserable(痛苦的),i try to keep my chin up, for no bad mood lasts forever.

　　The change of the village includes many sides. First, there are more cars. Before, people like to walk and the car is too expensive for them to buy, but now, as the development of the life standard, almost everyone has a car. They keep pace with the time. Second, the building is modern and people build new homes. When I was in the village, people there live in the small house and the material is not that modern. The big house means people have more income to live a comfortable life. All the changes are good for people.

　　农村的改变包括很多方面。第一，有很多车。之前，人们喜欢走路，车子对于他们来说太贵了，买不起，但是现在，随着生活标准的提高，几乎每个人都有车。他们跟上了时代的步伐。第二，建筑很现代，人们建了新家。当我还在村子的时候，人们住在小房子里，房子的材料落后。大房子意味着人们有的'收入来过舒适的日子。这些变化对人们来说是好的。

　　But the other change shocks me—the environment. When I lived here, the river is clean, the water is so pure that I could see my feet under the water. There are fishes and shrimps, but now, the water is polluted, the color has been changed, fish and shrimp are no more being seen.

　　但是另外的变化令我震惊—环境。当我在这里生活的时候，河是清澈的，河水很纯净，我可以看到水中的脚。那里有鱼和虾，但是现在，河水被污染，颜色已经变了，鱼和虾看不到了。

　　The change of the village means people’s life standard has been increased, the development of economy is at the cost of the environment, we need to protect our environment.

　　Things can be much different if we change the way to treat others. Don’t be so hard on other people, life will be much easier and happier. Some parents think their kids are not good enough for not getting the high mark, actually, talent differs in many children. If adults accept their children’s imperfection, both the children and them can live the happy life.

　　如果我们改变对待他人的方式，事情就会不一样。别对其他人那么苛刻，生活就会更容易和更快乐。一些父母认为他们的孩子做得不够好，没有得到高分，实际上，每个孩子的天赋都是不一样的，如果大人能接受孩子的不完美，那么孩子和他们都能过上快乐的生活。
