　　In 1949 my hometown was liberated. since then great changes have taken place there. the streets have been widened. factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. the life of the people is greatly improved.

　　I love my hometown. all the more i love its people. they are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

　　英语课时，我们学了人体五官，吴老师突发奇想――让我们画五官。

　　吴老师拿着纸走进教室，嘴角微微一笑，说：“把这……”还没说完，小组长已经开始发了。同学们拿到纸，吴老师见我们一脸茫然，便兴致勃勃地说：“你们要在它们的脸上画五官，可以任意发挥!”

　　“噢!知道了!”我拿着笔就刷刷画过去了，一抬头，见许多人没画好，又给小女孩添上弯弯的眉毛、弯弯的嘴角，形成一个笑脸，然后又画了两个马尾辫……我再次抬起头时，组长开始收画纸了。

　　接着，吴老师开始展示我们的作品，真是千奇百怪：有的是憨厚可爱的小猪，有的是美如神仙的小姑娘，还有的是尾巴长长可爱的猴子……“哈哈!哈哈!”所有同学哄堂大笑。原来是有一位同学把小水滴的头上画了小辫子，眼睛睁一只闭一只，鼻子长长的，尖尖的，像一把小刀，嘴巴张的老大了，都可以塞下一个西瓜了!口水垂涎三尺的`滑稽样子让我们忍不住哈哈大笑起来。吴老师也笑得合不拢嘴，连在旁边批作业的田老师也笑成了一朵花。我后面的同学徐阳自豪地宣布：“这是我画的!”

　　这次作业实在是太有趣了，原来做作业也是有创意的。真希望多一点这样的作业。

　　这个暑假我跟着爸爸去了不少地方，让我感受最深的不是美景，而是不会说英语的遗憾。

　　七月份的时候，我跟着爸爸去了北京玩，我们一起看了故宫，还有天安门，非常开心，这时我看见一个外国友人走到我们面前，说了好几句英语，我一脸迷惑的看着他，不知道他要表达什么，他看我听不懂，又转身找了一个，原来他是要找人帮忙照相啊。

　　虽然这只是一个小小的插曲，但是我却在随后的'日子里碰到了好几个外国友人，可怜我不会英语，那时我就下定决心，好好学英语。

　　回到家后，我买了一本简单的问候语，还有日常用语，开始学了起来，虽然过程是麻烦的，但是我还是坚持了下来，我又买了一本单词本，每天都背上几个，慢慢的我感觉自己的英语水平提高了。

　　八月份的时候，我跟着爸爸去了天津，当然我还是碰到了几个外国友人，这次我主动打了招呼，聊的很开心，外国友人直对我竖大拇指，我开心极了。

　　学会英语真好。
