A recent investigation shows that about 80 percent of pupils have private tutors.Such a popular practice indicates that people are attaching greater importance to education. 摘 要:学生做作文,教师批改作文是课堂教学的延续,是师生双方获得信息的重要通道。而教师批改作文的过程不是一个简单机械性的重复劳动,而是一种复杂的、具有创意的过程,需要教师凭着对教育事业的执着追求,凭着对学生高度负责的精神,才能够把学生的作文批透,获得教学信息反馈的第一手资料,为课堂教学打下基础。 关键词: 英语 作文批改评语 多样性
英语写作是高中阶段英语教学中一个重要组成部分,因为它能反映出学生对语言把握的综合能力,体现学生对于英语书面语言的驾驭能力。而对作文的批改则是教学中不可或缺的重要环节,它是教师和学生之间无声的“对话”。通过这种“对话”教师可以从中得到教与学的信息反馈,了解学生对所学知识内容掌握的程度;同时也有利于教师对教学内容的调整;学生可以从作文中了解对所学内容掌握程度,确立学习目标,改进学习方法。然而,目前高中阶段教师对英语作文的批改却不尽如人意。由于作文批改特别费时费力,加上面对千变万化的语言现象,很多教师往往产生疲于应付之感。这主要体现在以下一些方面:
1.教师花费在作文批改中的时间过长。平时要花很多时间在作文批改上,再加上平时小测验、单元检测等等,忙得团团转,探索教学改革的时间难以保证,教学改革也就难以付诸实施,这对现在推行的新课改是一个重大的损失。
2.师生双方获得的信息失真度很大。很多学生,特别是后进生,写作有较大困难,为了按时按量完成作文不被老师责罚,就抄袭他人的作文,应付了事,完全处于被动地位,学生主动思考,自我检查的积极性荡然无存。教师在作文批改中得不到学生真正水平的展示,就会出现学生平时写的不错,考试却写不出象样作文的现象。
3.教师在作文批改中简单、枯燥,不给学生以适当的分析与评价。学生只看到了自己的得分,而对哪些句子有错误,是什么样的错误却是茫然无知。教师偶有使用评语也是千篇一律,以至于很多学生拿到作文本看都不看一眼,因为他们觉得不会有什么惊喜出现在本子上。这种缺少点拨指正,少有赞扬激励的批改方式会严重挫伤学生写作的积极性,造成诸多不利影响。
综上所述,作文批改中存在的这些问题,不但让教师们很辛苦,束缚了教改的手脚,也束缚了学生学习的积极性和主动性。所以,对学生作文批改的改革也应该受到足够的重视。针对这些问题,我们开始在教学中逐渐摸索尝试更为科学合理、行之有效的作文批改方法。
一、批改方式的多样性与交替使用
1. 发挥面批的优势。面批作文的最大的一个优点是:可使学生及时、清楚地认识到自己作文每一处的毛病,须注意哪些问题,该如何改进等。目前,由于缺乏使用英语进行交流的语言环境,大部分学生都非常缺乏英语语感,对于他们来说,笔改作文多少有些“雾里看花、水中望月”,而面批作文恰好可以“识尽庐山真面目”。试想,学生和老师面对面,老师字斟句酌地边读边评,学生边听边思考,注意力自然比上课时更容易集中,对老师指出的作文中的毛病必会铭记于心,长久不忘。面批作文可以使我们深入学生的内心世界,了解学生的思维过程,针对每个学生的特点对症下药,从而收到立竿见影之效。比如很多学生写英语作文时,都是用汉语思考,把想写的内容先写成汉语,然后再逐字逐句的翻译成英语,这样写出来的英语作文,往往语句不通,单词使用不到位,时态混乱。而如果不面对面的批改,仅靠最后简单的评语或修改,学生进步空间有限。面对面的批改后让学生重新用英语思考,用英语的习惯来谴词造句,慢慢的英语写作水平才会得到提高。
在高一第一学期的英语作文课中,发觉学生普遍存在严重的英语表述困难,写起作文来中式英语句子比比皆是。像 My hometown take place great changes. The road happened a traffic accident yesterday. 甚至像good good study, day day up这样让人啼笑皆非的拼凑仍不时出现。对这样的作文,教师即使作出详细的笔批,学生也仍然看着一头雾水,无法真正领会其要义。为此,有必要采取面批的方式,对每篇作文都细致分析其语病,指导修改的方法。慢慢地,学生的表达规范了,Chinglish变少了。坚持面批,指导学生欣赏、背诵优美的英语句子,模仿地道的英文表达。经过一年的努力,学生的作文进步很大,大部分学生除了能准确使用简单句外,甚至较多的使用复合句来组织句子。而且,由于对句子的内在结构有了较好的把握,完型填空和阅读理解能力也有了较大提高。
面批作文还可以体现出对学生隐私权的尊重,对学生自尊心的保护。中学生正处于心理、生理发育最迅猛的时期,此时他们对外界刺激特别敏感,分辨力差,自尊心强,笔批中太多的圈圈点点,过多的错误指正,会使他们觉得遭到贬低和否认,伤害其自尊心,久而久之使他们对作文产生畏难情绪。而在面批作文过程中,教师温和的语气,在指出错误的同时不断给予正面的肯定,能最大程度地消除学生的焦虑感,激发他们写好作文的兴趣和自信心。同时,面批作文还可以缩短师生间的距离,消除师生间的隔膜,增强师生间的感情,加深师生间的相互了解。这样便于教师掌握每个学生的特点,利于搞好课堂教学,调动学生开口说英语的积极性。
当然,面批作文与精批一样,同样是件费时费力的工作。英语教师往往有两个班的教学任务,要想把这样两个班130多个同学的作文都面批一遍,仍然是一项巨大的工程,在实际运用当中可以根据时间的充裕与否,每次有选择的选取部分学生进行面批,但要保证每个学生都能获得同等的面批机会,特别是后进生,不能让他们产生被忽视的感觉。
2. 精批部分,泛批其余。正是由于精批作文耗时巨大,教师难以做到每次作文都能精批细改,经常是到了下次作文的时间,仍然有部分的作文未批改完,就不得不匆匆地发给学生继续写作。这样做会大大挫伤学生的学习积极性,造成的后果是学生不再认真写作文,反正认真写了老师也经常不批改的,要么随便应付一下或干脆抄袭别人的,这样,学生习作的错误得不到纠正,问题得不到解决,进入恶性循环。所以,我们要坚决杜绝此做法。为了做到既能节约时间,提高效率,同时又能较为详实的了解不同层次学生习作的能力,我们可以采用精批与泛批想结合的方式。通常教师对自己所教班级每个学生的英语水平基本上心中有数,然后以好、中、差的顺序每个层次随意抽取约2-3本进行批改,中等生和学困生的作文还可多抽几本,未被抽取的作业本,可以泛批,这样掌握了不同层次学生英语运用的实际情况,教师根据问题,及时调整教学,有针对性、有层次、有重点地进行写作教学,避免两极分化的加剧。精批的这部分作文,从中归纳出典型错误,然后将这些错误展示出来,让学生一起订正,这样节省了教师批改作文的时间,提高了工作效率。精批与泛批相结合的方式,不仅可以使教师在评讲作文时做到有的放矢,而且能使学生知道自己在知识上的缺陷并做到对症下药。
3. 学生的互改与轮改。指导学生写作文固然重要,指导学生参与评改作文,做学习的主人显得更为重要,这也是提高学生作文能力必不可少的一个环节。叶圣陶先生说:“学校领导相信精批细改,家长也迷信,这实在有损害于学生的是,学生的主动性减弱了,这是最大的损害”。学生是学习的主人,应该调动学生的主动性,积极参与作文评改。作文完成后,需要对文章进一步的审读、辨析、推敲、调整、润色,使文章更趋完善。但是有些文章的毛病是不会很轻易地被发现,这时能借助别人的帮助,进行商讨,发现问题,解决问题,显然是很及时有效的。作文完成后,让学生互相交换批改,这种方法既能调动学生积极参与的兴趣,又能促进学生对写作内容的理解。
因为学生交换改,既能使他们及时发现和改正自己作文中出现的错误,又可以使他们从别人的作文中发现错误,从而吸取教训,减少类似的错误再次出现。当然我们亦可采用“轮改”的方式,可把全班学生分成若干个小组,成绩好的与成绩差的搭配平衡,每个组指定一个学生担任组长。每次派其中的2到4个小组批改作文,参加批改作文的学生由老师先给他们面批,然后再分组批改。每组批改完后,由组长向老师汇报作文批改情况,哪些句型错误严重,哪些个同学错误相同。学生通过作文轮改,加深了对写作内容的理解和巩固,也增强了自我责任意识;老师从学生汇报的作文批改情况中,得到了信息反馈,有利于调整写作教学的内容,更换教学方法,提高教学质量。互改与轮改的方式,不仅反馈及时,而且更重要的是利于充分调动学生的学习积极性,培养他们的参与意识和提高他们的自我教育、分析、解决问题的能力,使他们在批改作业中得到启迪,思维得到锻炼,对知识由被动接受变为主动探究,从而提高了学习的效率。
4. 二次记分。认知是一个循序渐进的过程。许多学生难以一次使作业达到较高水平,得到自己满意的等级。在评价学生作文的问题上,传统的做法中教师经过一番审阅和批改,然后给予一次性的成绩或等第,对于学习主动性差的学生,往往缺乏积极的思考和订正。二次记分的做法是:先由老师对学生的作文先打一个成绩,并给以恰如其分的评语。然后将作文发还给学生,要求他们对照评语,反思作文过程,认真修改作文。如果修改之后正确,便追加成绩,否则便不给分。这种方法能有效的调动学生及时订正作文的积极性,另一方面,还能使学生逐渐养成仔细检查作文过程、自觉优化思路的良好学习习惯。
二、评语的多样性使用
评语作为作文批阅的方式,除了便于学生更清楚地了解自己作文中的优缺点,还可加强师生间的交流,促进学生各方面和谐统一的进步。合理的评语能传送期待,激励学生,激发他们的学习兴趣,还能促使学生建立自信,提高学习效果,并且适当的评价还能给学生以温馨和关怀,有不可低估的心理教育作用。 1. 评语要符合学生的实际水平评语是写给学生看的,所以一方面评语要使用学生能看得懂的英语来写,所使用的词汇和语法不能过高或过低于学生的现有水平,要切合学生的实际水平,符合学生的个性心理发展需要;另一方面要做到循序渐进,由易到难,能够起到"跳一跳,摘到桃子"的作用,也就是说学生通过上下文的.猜测或借助于词典就能理解。例如:

很早以前就允诺自己要达到批改网目前我见到的最高分,本次得尝己愿,写下这个“第二章”。虽然心里有点怨念——第一章没有怎么得到大家的支持,回帖什么的都很少,虽然我不是很在意这个,但是这毕竟是我的心血,不管对大家的作用大小,但毕竟我是带着诚意帮大家写下这个,现在姑且称为经验吧。
首先希望大家已经看过了第一章,因为我在这章不会说上一章已经说过的经验。
首先问大家第一次接触句酷修改网(不是其他修改网)是自己主动找到的还是老师布置作文,告诉你们的。大多数应该是后者吧。
其实,笔者越接触批改网,对其的反感和厌恶之情也就越深。作为一个喜欢人工智能和微电自控技术但又同时深深受教育于中华文学的人,笔者本身就是矛盾的。因为一方面甚至语言的美丑优劣只有视角、立场和区域的不同,没有绝对高下之分,在第一章中笔者就已经说明过,电子批改的基本算法是不堪我们这些充满“创造力”的考生折磨的,了解了打分的模式,每次按照这个结构出牌,分数一般就恒在一水平线上。没错,笔者认为按照笔者的方法,这个线大概是88-98. 那么,接下来的这个问题就很重要了——你是主要是想要高分数还是英语写作能力的提高?
笔者之所以这么问,第一是因为;前面已经说了,(这里用一点计算机方面的知识),你可以把批改网想象成一个有固定接口和固定处理程式的机器,即使每次你输入的是差不多的一些句型,一些其实不是很恰当但是“高级”的词汇,并用上一些小技巧(后文会说),你就能得到高分数。而这,是根本对于提高你的英语实力无益的。注意,这里说的是对整个过程无益,也许你考四六级、考研时用上应付批改网的这类技巧,拿到了高分,但那只是类似于一个随机结果,通过测试你面对真实英语写作实际时所展现的能力的水平线来看,你还是处在一个不高的水平上。说到这个可能你会感到笔者的语言展现已经有些不清晰了那么我用具体的测试来说明下:
笔者通过对批改网的测试,有这些样例:
VOA原文,考研范文,GRE黄金200句(Issue)等,几乎都有不下5个的错误和成片的黄色警告,中式英语和句式错误让我情何以堪……
面对这些纯正地道的英语批改网往往给出80分左右的评价,这不禁让笔者想起了“庸医害一人,庸师误一群”,反观之,高考满分作文和四级高分作文就好很多,大概85上下。这似乎在明示我们——通过批改网的训练,你最多只能达到一个四级写作小牛的地步。当然我不是说批改网拿高分的都是只有四级小牛的水平,很多备考GRE的同学提笔一写就是92上下…… 但是!笔者的重点是:
第一, 批改网说明的中式英语等可能就是它的语料库本身不完善,很多好
句型可以去如:British National Corpus去找。大家为了分数的话还是要改,只不过不能在大脑里留下“这个表达是中式英语,以后不能再用”的想法,你可以多方查证,我聚个非常简单的例子: learn knowledge就是中式英语,应该用obtain,get等,这些就需要你去查证,也许批改网会报错
第二, 很多错误,如时态,单复数,代词指代等,作为一个了解电子评改
基础算法的人我可以说,能查出语言的各种细节的机器和软件的制造难度不亚于完美的机器翻译和人工智能通过图灵测试。所以你拿了高分,很可能在英语考级或者TOEFL等实力测试中因为各种基础错误连篇而败得很惨。
第三, 因为写作思维的不同,我们的很多表达只能被中国人理解,但电脑就认为是中式英语,然后你再改,又是中式英语表达,但是假设通过了(这个很容易),可是它还是中式英语。相反,很多优美的句子,也许来自著名的英语母语的作家,或者就来自读者(-,-不是中国的),但是这句在语料库中出现很少(经过测试),批改网的评分十分缺乏理解美文美句的能力。比如你写一篇中文作文,有那么几句如泣如诉,恍若天成,那么这篇作文可能因为这句话而上几个等级,但是在电脑看来,这种感性的“感觉”不会存在,最多是,判断一句,然后做出“很好”然后在判断一句“一般”,再判断“好”,你的那句有着修辞用法的句子即使没有被误判为有错误,那么最多给你的作文增加0.5-1分。
写到这里,笔者觉察到似乎写得不是很有头绪,也许是因为经验,即使是条例化的经验也是包含在感觉中的,更何况我好似一直在批判……
那么,以上的总结可以姑且概括为——如果你需要提高分数或者只要分数,那么往下看,如果你认为你只希望提高能力,那么下面你就参考参考,一直用,你的分数高了,能力却不会有什么上升。
为了更清楚,我决定分条写,但这样的弊端是相互间联系很小了: 先说总体提分,再说具体:
1. 改的次数。要是没有吃苦的精神,又不是高帅富白富美,那么要拿高分,不吃苦怎么行。一篇作文不改到90上你良心要是安宁,那么,祝贺你,你将有好的心态到老并很有可能是一事无成到老。有同学说了,我基础差,好,那么也要上85,这是底线!那么,怎么改,首先你英语基础不能太差,有同学说我就是很差怎么办,我就是高考英语没及格怎么办?能怎么办,什么都别说了,开始学呗!怎么学?首先语法上,不要求你现在拿回高考的选择题做,100道能对75道以上,你至少要对错误有基础意思。红色错误,一定要改!这是原则一。因为类似于编程,erroring一定是违背基础语法的,这类问题你不能总是说“批改网有问题!“,也许有问题,
不过笔者也只是遇到过某个单词它太笨或者太低级,不认识过于专业的单词或者英美式对于某个东西各有各的说法,但是它只认识一种,举个例子enterogastric disease,肠胃病,但是它不认识,换成intestinal tract disease吧,它又说要加the……当然,我觉得批改网要求加上介词的情况比现实中美国英语要多。也许它是习惯了莎士比亚时代的那个the的富含量……哈,开个玩笑。
总之,红色错误是一定要改的,一般一个红色错误都有0.5-1.5分的飞跃。 而黄色警告,如果你要求高分,注意——黄色警告一定要在3个以下!否则你的分数就会比期望至少低1-5分·。
然后就有2种情况了,第一——我改后,红色错误没了,黄色警告3个左右了,为什么分数还是不好,这时你还是要改。之前是改正,现在是改进!你英语基础不好,状语从句,非限,主词从句,形式主语,定语从句是使用得最多的加分句子,注意我指的是在批改网上。我举个例子,你想说什么东西很重要:
Apparently,it goes without saying that XXX that(这个东西,比如你说iphone,那你加解释,was invented by Jobs/was produced by Apple.Inc等等,Jobs你又可以加who……或者whose reputation and creativity ……等等)play/plays an important role in XXXX,whichXXXXX.这只是一个很通俗的例子,只需要一点点的语法知识,一个句子串起来怎么也会有25-50个词吧,句子长度和连接词是电子批改的算法观察点之一!
