　　The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved.I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

　　新学期了，又该换英语课代表了。老师说：“谁愿意当本学期课代表？”你看看我，我看看你，大家都不知所措。一片静寂之后，第一位发言人——李丹阳站到了讲台上，虽然她讲的时候有点吞吞吐吐，但是她毕竟是最勇敢的。

　　其次是朱文琦、贠博严。看到了演讲是如此简单，我们男生也不甘示弱，刘益帆、郑明远也陆续上台。我鼓起勇气，慢慢地走向讲台，同学们都为我鼓掌，为我的.勇敢而鼓掌。当我走在二组和三组之间的时候，我还听见杨俊悄悄地说：“嗯，白春辉还不错。”我站在讲台上说：“我也想当课代表，平常我有些胆小，不太大方，这回，我想通过当课代表让我变得大方一些，能够为同学们做事，也是我的荣耀。”我一边说手一边抠着自己的衣服。演讲之后，我们站在一边，等待同学的投票，就在这时，我想：“我应该及时把作业抱到办公，及时给同学说英语作业，自己的英语作业要认认真真地完成，身为课代表我得起带头作用啊！”……

　　该给我投票了。瞬间，全班立刻沸腾起来，四十几只小手齐刷刷地举起来。跟我一样，郑明远也受到了同样的欢迎。最后，老师宣布让我和郑明远都当课代表。
